This co-location product provides OMI row and scan indices for each MODIS pixel at both 3 and 10 km resolution. The products provides the area of the OMI row co-located with a given MODIS pixel and the distances between the MODIS and OMI pixel centers in kilometers. The co-location is performed on the MODIS 5-minutes granule. The data are subsequently indexed according to indexing for MODIS latitude and longitude coordinates at 3 and 10 km resolution, hence preserving all the geolocation information for the MODUS granule. This product will allow researchers take full advantage of the high spatial resolution of MODIS in case studies that use both OMI and MODIS aerosol information. Each data file will correspond to MODIS gradule along the ascending portion of the OMI orbit. Approximately eight files will be required to cover a full pole-to-pole OMI orbit, though most regional case studies will likely only require a few MODIS granules for a given OMI orbit.
